You must be a paid-up member of Welcome Newcomer Club to participate in the Leisure Activities, unless noted in the activity writeup in the newsletter announcements. Chairpersons, please note: all activities information must be submitted to Ginny Schmidt (email@example.com) by the 15th OF EACH MONTH for inclusion in the following month's newsletter. MONTHLY LUNCHEON Meets the first Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at different area venues. Activities include a used book sale, door prizes, birthday congratulations, introduction of new members and guests, an excellent speaker or enjoyable program, and various games including canasta, bridge, herman, and rummicub for those who want to stay and play.
BOOK CLUBS The Literary Ladies meet the second Tuesday at different members' homes at 1 p.m. to share their thoughts about that month's book selection.
Rascal Readers meet on the second Thursday at the Largo Library for a lively discussion and adjourn afterward for lunch at a nearby restaurant.
CARD GROUPS The Bridge Club meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 10:30 a.m, plays a little, has lunch, and plays some more! You don't need a partner, we'll team you up with some new friends.
The Canasta Club meets every third Thursday each month at 1:00 pm.
ADVENTURES IN DINING Following the theme of Eat Your Way Around the World, members (spouses optional) meet on the second Saturday each month at a different ethnic restaurant.
COUPLES DINING OUT Meets on the fourth Sunday of each month at a local restaurant; members and their spouses or significant others get together for dinner and conversation; often the group will adjourn to a member's home afterward for dessert and continued good fellowship.
LADIES LUNCH BUNCH Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in a different member's home, for a potluck lunch and good company. Hostess provides a main dish and vegetables, and attettendees bring a dish to share.
MAHJONG CLUB Meets on the forth Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m. Experienced or beginner players are welcome.
STITCH IT UP Meets on the second Wdnesday from 9:30 to noon at a member's home to work on individual craft projects, whether it be sewing, knitting, beading, cross-stitch, or whatever.
TRIPS and SHOWS Various venues and activities may be offered throughout the entire year: we have gone to Tampa Bay Downs, various museums and historical buildings, Disney, Weeki Wachee, Tarpon Springs, and enjoyed High Tea at William Dean Chocolates.
