After our club had been growing for about ten years, there were so many members that, in 1976, we split into two groups. When someone reached the three-year mark in her membership, she "graduated" into Welcome Newcomer Alumni. Each group had its own officers, event schedule, and budget. Eventually, however, it became difficult to manage two separate groups, so they merged back into one club in 2008, incorporating under the title of the Welcome Newcomer Club of Pinellas, Inc. Before long, however, the name of the club was modified to Welcome Newcomer Club, Inc. We salute the women who stepped up to the plate and led us, through good times and bad. Thank you, Ladies.
